Sky: Ibrahimovic wants Milan stay as Maldini and Massara get ready to discuss new deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to meet with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and offer him a new contract, it is claimed, and the striker wishes to stay.

It seemed almost certain that Ibrahimovic would be leaving at the end of the season, but the subsequent U-turn in the club’s plans regarding the arrival of Ralf Rangnick has seemingly reopened the door for the Swede to stay.

According to what is being reported by Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Milan and Ibrahimovic want to continue together. In the next week Maldini and Massara have been to Milanello several times and have spoken on several occasions with the 38-year-old, whose will to stay at the club is clear.

Ibra had a renewal option that expired in May, so a deal will have to be found from scratch, but the Rossoneri management would like to find the right formula and hope that Zlatan will lower his requests a bit.

Milan are also aware that going to get another Ibrahimovic would cost over €50million €5-6m net in salary, while in comparison convincing the Swede to stay should be simpler.
