Sky: Injured players at Milanello – rest of squad get two days off

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has given the squad two days off after the draw against Napoli, but the injured players were at Milanello to continue their recovery.

As Sky (via MilanNews) report, when factoring in the three players who came off due to injury last night at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, the number of injured Rossoneri players rises to nine.

Ismael Bennacer, Mattia Caldara, Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Samuel Chukwueze missed the game, while Simon Kjaer suffered a muscle problem just before it and also couldn’t play.

Then, Pierre Kalulu, Christian Pulisic and Marco Pellegrino came off during the match after picking up problems. Today those players, despite the two days of break granted, are in Milanello to undergo their various recovery work.

Loftus-Cheek published a story on Instagram in which he can be seen working in the gym at the sports centre. Pioli has to hope that he is available for the game against Udinese on Saturday.

  1. Still haven’t heard what the actual problem is with Pulisic. Anyone know?
We need RLC back so we can sit Reijnders. He’s been bad lately.

    1. Pioli indicated that he had felt pain in a flexor muscle (which he had a problem with at Chelsea), and he was taken off out of caution.

Unfortunately, I haven’t heard anything about an assessment to confirm if it’s a scare or a real injury.
