Sky journalist explains why Chelsea defender has slim chance of ending up at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

There is reportedly very little chance of Chelsea outcast Antonio Rudiger ending up in Serie A, amid speculation claiming AC Milan may be interested.

With Milan desperate to reinforce their centre-back department, Sky Italia‘s Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews) on Friday night mentioned the name of Antonio Rudiger, who could become an option for the club, seeing as Chelsea have opened up to a possible loan move for the German defender.

According to Sky journalist Luca Marchetti (via MilanNews), Rudiger is ‘no good’ for any club in Italy right now due to the simple fact that he currently earns €5m net per season, so around €10m gross.

However, he adds that the last week of the market is like a game of poker, and that Chelsea may be forced to offload an asset on the cheap rather than holding on to a player who is not in their plans and who will therefore only devalue.
