Sky: Latest on Berardi, De Ketelaere and more – Milan’s mercato with RedBird

AC Milan are expected to reinforce their squad ahead of next season and with the official announcement of RedBird’s takeover, the work can begin. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have several targets in mind.

Elliott Management and Milan announced earlier today that the club has been sold to RedBird Capital. Shortly after, the latter’s CEO Gerry Cardinale more or less confirmed that Maldini and Massara will stay at the club.

Therefore, work on the mercato can now begin and according to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), there are several factors to evaluate. First of all, Divock Origi will arrive and Renato Sanches remains a top target for the midfield. As for Sven Botman, it’s a complex operation.

Milan will certainly invest on the attacking trio, per the report, and Domenico Berardi as well as Nicolo Zaniolo have been mentioned. Both are very expensive, though, and thus make them far from ideal for the Rossoneri.

Maldini and Massara are also looking abroad and one of the players on their radar is Charles De Ketelaere. They are following the Club Brugge man closely, although previous reports have suggested he’s expensive.

Speaking of the budget, the arrival of a new owner will only make Milan’s budget stronger than before. This was stated in the report, adding that the Rossoneri also need to define the situation of Zlatan Ibrahimovic (set to renew).

Finally, the players that are on loan at the club (Florenzi and Messias, for example) need to get some indications from the club and decisions need to be made.
