Sky: Leao renewal to be made official by Milan next week

AC Milan are expected to officially announce the renewal of Portuguese forward Rafael Leao next week, a report claims.

As has been reported by Sky Sport Italia (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are getting ready to make the fans extremely happy by confirming that Leao is going to be staying at the club.

The major breakthrough in the contract negotiations came last week and the news was received incredibly happily by the fans, so the official confirmation will be the same.

The renewal could be announced as soon as Monday next week which is May 21. The extension will mean that his contract now runs until 2028 rather than 2024 and he will receive €5 million per season.

There will also be a €175 million release clause which in recent years may have seemed like the sort of clause that will never be activated, but the game has changed and should he perform to his best ability next season, a team like Paris Saint Germain or Manchester City could afford to trigger it.

  1. Leao developet fine at Ac Milan. News would be excellent to say that for Saelemaekers in next season and form him to reach double digit assist and goals in combined.

    1. Yeah, not sure what he’s thinking. But he hasn’t signed yet…
I wouldn’t be surprised if next week he says he changed his mind because we won’t be in the CL next season.

  2. According to some double standards professors here, we’re just lucky to get the contract extension.
