Sky: Milan begin contacts over Dortmund striker who could join with Morata

By Oliver Fisher -

The latest idea to emerge for AC Milan in their pursuit of a new striker is Niclas Fullkrug of Borussia Dortmund, according to a report.

Sky are claiming that the Milan management would like to give Paulo Fonseca two strikers. Alvaro Morata could be the first one, as he has been offered a four-year contract worth €5.5m net per season and remains the primary objective.

Milan have also evaluated the profile of Tammy Abraham who has been ‘requested by Fonseca’ but the directors have not reached an agreement with Roma, mostly because the Rossoneri are trying to include counterparts like Luka Jovic, which does not convince the Giallorossi.

Geoffrey Moncada and co. have begun talks over a deal for Fullkrug who they believe could be the perfect partner for Morata, and the German could think of leaving Dortmund to find more playing time especially after the arrival of Serhou Guirassy.

The 31-year-old scored 16 goals across all competitions last season and added 10 assists for a Dortmund side that reached the Champions League final but lost against Real Madrid, while with Germany he went to the quarter-finals against Spain.

He netted twice at the European Championship against Scotland and Switzerland despite mostly being an option off the bench.

      1. He’s a late bloomer. His last two seasons have been impressive. He was a key part for Dortmund. With that said, I wouldn’t pat more than 15 million for him.

        1. I don’t care if he is a late bloomer or not. Can’t go around saying he is better than morata. That’s just pure ignorance and massive disrespect to Morata (who I don’t even like).

And he was talking shît about Milan last season so he can stay the fúck away

          1. Oh trust me. I like Morata more. As I’m Spanish and all. Morata is definitely the better playet.

I didn’t know that about him. Just was looking at his stats. If that’s the case, I agree. I’d rather get Tammy on loan if we really need someone other than Morata too. Or just put more trust in Jovic.

      2. You guys just come out here and talk without facts. Fullkrug was top scorer in the Bundelisga after Nkunku.

He scores goals. Even at the Euros he scored more goals for Germany than Havertz. He can be a great addition to Milan for depths. You guys criticise everything?

        1. Was being the key word here. Immobile was always a top soccer in Italy. Should we get him?

2 goals at euro. Wow much quality’ very effective

  1. Morata is done. Monday, then a medical.

As far as Fullkrug, interesting, if a bit of a late bloomer. His international record is pretty impressive (goals vs appearances).

  2. Undervalued. I would totally get him if price is right. He is a fighter, strong in the box, strong in duels. Not a top player, but I would rather have him on my team than on the opponents. But we got Jovic so I don’t get why we should have Morata, Jovic and Fulkrung. Okafor has proven that he can play as n9 if needed.

  3. He is great but do we need another 31 years old striker??
I would prefer him over morata but I don’t see any use for them both

    1. I just think that they are quick and safe solutions while Milan look for better targets next season. Sort of like what Inter has been doing with Tahremi and Zielinski. They are both matured players, but cost not that much. Bayern just paid a lot for Palhinha who is 29. Inter just paid 8 millions for Arnautovic who is 35. So I think these two make more sense. Also Milan might use these experienced forwards to help to grow Camarda. I think Fonseca was hired more to help to develop the youngsters which is a great idea. Italian football is also struggling because the academies of most clubs are not that great, excluding Atalanta most likely.

  4. I am not all in for having two 30+ strikers in squad, but somehow I understand why Milan management choose also the 30+ striker for backup strikers. This scheme typically also applies for goalkeepers. Their (old striker and GKs) contract will not long (unlike Origi’s case, which become painful experience) with reasonable salary. And even if their contract will be extended later on, they won’t ask for crazy amount of salary increase, since they are already old, just like Giroud And if they end up going for free, minimal or maybe even none capital loss, due to lower transfer fee.
Being a Milan fans since early 90s when Holland trio were there, it is quite painful to see how Milan now can’t compete in top players market, but I already come to peace with Milan situation now.
Regardless, I still cant understand why Milan focus on such as Emerson Royal, when bettee option with also low fee are available.

    1. Yes I agree… and yes , I think we don’t need Emerson Royal… we have Calabria, Kalulu and Florenzi on this position … and I think Kalulu can break it to the starting 11 if he will be okey…if Kalulu and Florenzi stay, we are ok and it will be better use money on other target (Pavlovič, Rabiot, Fofana)

  5. Wow!!! Füllkrug!!! This would be the perfect move and/but therefore it won’t happen. A classic #9 who bangs beautiful goals, is strong, has the right attitude etc. I’d LOVE to see him in Milan but that’s not going to happen though.

    1. Going from a CL finalist to a CL group stage club is hard to sell… That’s where we’re at right now. Also He just moved a year ago – he probably won’t want to move.

  6. Eh? I can’t see why there’d be any truth in this, there’s no reason for Milan to buy another forward unless it’s a collosal upgrade over Morata and Jovic – why would we pay three or four senior people for that one position, assuming playing one up front?

And for Dortmund he’s a very useful player without massively high sale value.

  7. Ive been saying we should look at him. He is very good and a late bloomer. He doesn’t rely on speed rather physicality + aerial strength. He would be our moden day oliver bierhoff. I hope this rumour is credible.

  8. Wasn’t the point for Camarda to be theb3rd striker option so he starts getting experience? Why are we wasting money on a 4th when we desperately need to sign a CDM?
