Sky: Milan confident on renewal despite Ibrahimovic’s refusal of bonuses – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expected to reach an agreement with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over a new contract in the next 48 hours, it is claimed.

The saga linked to the renewal of the Swede is beginning to become long and tedious, as it seemed for weeks as though a new deal would be a formality given Stefano Pioli’s stay as head coach, but negotiations have not unlocked as of yet.

Speaking to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Gianluca Di Marzio gave the latest updates on Ibrahimovic, confirming that technical director Paolo Maldini is optimistic for the renewal of the 38-year-old.

The last details between the parties must be resolved and it could take a matter of 24-48 hours. The distance is not large as Ibrahimovic is asking for €7million net, while Milan offers €6million.

Milan remain very confident even if it is a problem related to the salary, as Ibrahimovic will not accept bonuses related to appearances or goals: he wants a substantial fixed part because he believes he deserves it.
