Sky: Milan ‘destined’ to complete sixth summer signing who has eyes on starting spot

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are destined to complete their sixth summer signing soon as a deal for Alessandro Florenzi of Roma, according to a report.

The latest from Sky (via MilanLive) confirms that Florenzi one step away from joining Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Sandro Tonali, Brahim Diaz and Olivier Giroud as a summer signing for the Rossoneri.

The 30-year-old is ‘destined’ to become a new Milan player as per the journalist as the Italy international knows he has no place at Roma and is therefore pushing to leave the club. He sees Milan as an interesting project and it cannot be excluded that he manages to take the starting spot from Davide Calabria.

Obviously it is difficult to imagine at the moment that Calabria could lose his position in the starting XI, but competition is always healthy and with over 45 games to come next season depth will be absolutely crucial.

  1. You’re not seeing it… he won’t be starting over Calabria (he’s a deadlock), he’ll be fighting to start over Saelemaekers
