Sky: Milan looking to modify Tonali deal with Brescia – the reason and the possible method

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to negotiate the option to buy for Sandro Tonali but face a race against time to do so, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Luca Marchetti for Sky Italia (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri consider Tonali a great player and his quality is not in question, but due to injuries and Covid he has had a difficult season in terms of adapting to a top clubs.

Milan are adamant that with time he will become one of the team’s top player, but perhaps with a little more delay than first expected and therefore the management want to see if the option to buy figure of €35m could be modified. They will explore certain formulas such as including bonuses related to appearances or payment deferral.

They must first talk to Brescia president Massimo Cellino to understand if there is scope to tweak the existing agreement, but like the Fikayo Tomori deal it is a situation that must be resolved by June 30 when the options expire.
