AC Milan are in the market for a new centre-forward and they have been offered Porto’s Mehdi Taremi by his entourage, a report claims.
According to Sky, Stefano Pioli spoke with the management yesterday at the first day of preseason and stressed the need to have a new striker available for next season, after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s retirement and given Olivier Giroud’s age.
Taremi is one of the names on the list of Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada at present. The 30-year-old has been offered to Milan and also to Roma, with Porto asking for €25m as a transfer fee.
Such high demands currently complicate the deal for both sides and thus it seems Porto will need to drop their asking price if things are to go any further.
Not only that, but as always seems to be the case these days there is a Saudi club chasing Taremi too, namely Al-Hilal.
Taremi has been prolific since joining Porto, scoring 16 goals in 34 league games in his first season (2020-21), then 20 in 32 the next season and 22 in 33 in the last campaign.
They did buy injury prone benchwarmer for 21 millions, giving him 4 millions a season and wasted non EU spot. So nothing can surprise me anymore.

Not on 4 millions net RLC will pocket. Growth Decree applies to gross amount of salary meaning the club pays les tax on salary to government.

So? Maldini or not, I was against it even then. For that money he is a waste. Will change my mind if he stays fit and plays as many games Tonali played last season and if he accomplishes his stats. And as always, I hope he shuts my mouth for good. If it’s good for the club it is good for me.

If Milan has a strategy they would spend less time chasing unattainable targets and go for reasonable targets with clearer ideas on how we want to play this season. Get Kamada, Isaksen, Emegha, Singo, Reijners and we have enough depth that can grow with the team for the 5 or so seasons. And sort out the LW, Theo needs a deputy. Krunic, RLC, Reinjers and Pobega can handle the double pivot. Let Pulisic and Kamada rotate in the AM position and or assist Leao, put Isaksen on RW and let Emegha grow behind Giroud. Use Origi as the 3rd striker since he refuses to go.
I can’t remember when was the last time Portuguese teams sold ANY players for cheap.
They always overprice their players, and in some cases, are just annoying to deal with. Ask Lille and Leao.
Nothing against Taremi, he seems a class player, but I doubt we can get him at a discount.
Not sure why are they not getting Icardi, have they forgoton how good he was at Inter? I think if he comes to Milan he would do great, just the striker we need.
Not going for Icardi is probably due to the circus that comes with him than his footballing ability IMHO.

I’m thinking 🦌 ain’t cheap too because we’re overpaying. If he was that good, maybe another club might scoop him up for that “cheap”. It’s only 20-25 mil after all. A lower table epl can afford that
