Sky: Milan’s probable XI vs. Cagliari – Reijnders replaces Krunic; new attacking trio

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan could be set to look very different once again for the next match against Cagliari as Stefano Pioli rotates his team and reacts to injuries.

As has been reported by Sky Sport today (via Francesco Nasato), Milan should be switching back to a 4-3-3 after using a 3-4-3 formation against Hellas Verona on Saturday in the 1-0 win.

With Rade Krunic suffering an injury against Verona, Pioli must choose someone else to be in the centre of the midfield three. Whilst many thought it may be Yacine Adli getting a chance, Sky believe it will be Tijjani Reijnders with Ruben Loftus-Cheek on one side and then Yunus Musah or Tommaso Pobega on the other side.

They also think that Christian Pulisic is going to remain in the starting lineup but Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud are going to drop to the bench for Samuel Chukwueze and Noah Okafor, with the latter presumably being the striker.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Sportiello; Florenzi, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo; Loftus-Cheek, Reijnders, Musah/Pobega; Chukwueze, Okafor, Pulisic.

  1. I actually like this lineup provided it is Musah instead of Pobega. Will be interesting to see Okafor at CF, I know he can dribble and has good pace but I’m not sure about his passing and his ability to work with the wingers. Giroud’s passing has been excellent this season.

    1. Loftus, Reijnders and Adli (replacing Krunic) would be a better mid.
Pulisic left, okafor CF, Chukwueze upfront.
Use Musa and Pobega as sub.
I would use Kjaer instead of Thiaw (He is playing a lot).

  2. Gazzetta says lineup will be Pulisic at RW with Okafor CF and Leao LW. Hope its wrong.

I am said not to see Chuk start almost every game. He can be one of the best right wingers in the world.

    1. Your right Pioli is a useless coach that doesn’t know the right thing to do. He is doing useless favouritism Loftus cheek is just a waist in the midfield

  3. One thing I miss about Ancelotti is that he rotated well, maybe in the pressure cooker of Serie A at the time we didn’t win the league every season but we did incredibly well in Europe. Utilise all 30 players. That’s what makes a winning unit.
