Sky: Milan set for crucial meeting with agent over renewal of star midfielder – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will meet with the agent of Hakan Calhanoglu next week to try and move closer towards a renewal of his contract, a report claims.

Time is running out for the Rossoneri to try and find an agreement with Calhanoglu over a new deal given his current one expires in six months, meaning he is free to sign a pre-contract with another club this month amid speculation that the two parties are not close to striking a deal.

Sky Italia (via MilanNews) reported yesterday that Milan have tabled a contract worth €3.5m net per season while the request is practically double.

The feeling is that the meeting next week could bring the parties closer, but the Rossoneri are at a crossroads: either they pay Calhanoglu the money and accept that others will ask for more too, or let him go and try to reinvest.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Calhanoglu’s agent, Gordon Stipic, will be in Milan next week to speak with the Rossoneri about the renewal of the Turkish player. Therefore, in a few days the intentions of the two sides will be understood.
