Sky: Milan want an attacking ‘revolution’ – double role foreseen for Renato Sanches

AC Milan are looking to make some moves ahead of time in a bid to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window, and an update has arrived from journalist Peppe Di Stefano.

Speaking to Sky (via PianetaMilan), Di Stefano suggested that Milan are not inclined to spend the €35-40m needed to sign Sven Botman from Lille because of Pierre Kalulu’s emergence last season and the return of Simon Kjaer, while Gleison Bremer would cost less and knows the league already.

He adds that ‘a revolution will be needed’ in attack and while Divock Origi will arrive, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be out until 2023 (and still might not renew) while Olivier Giroud has one more year. Ante Rebic is inconsistent and there is no No.10 of starter level.

The Rossoneri want to invest in the trident and specifically the right wing, but the issue with Domenico Berardi as a target is that Sassuolo want €40m to sell him and that is an amount that Milan do not seem willing to pay.

Finally, he adds that Renato Sanches is the first target on the list and he can play not only as a central midfielder but also as a playmaker if needed, which makes him useful.

    1. I saw that Bremer only wants Inter sadly, so we have a little problem that we are to late for him and he wants a 3 man system and Botman deal now seems more difficult. Would’ve be surprised if he goes to Newcastle. With Kalulu and Tomori there isn’t a problem now but I have a bad feeling that we will get longer injuries from Theo or Tomori next season and that would be a problem
