Sky: Pioli has two doubts for Fiorentina trip – Conti and Calhanoglu in line for starts

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is still deciding on two positions in his starting XI for Saturday’s game against Fiorentina, a report claims.

According to the latest from Sky Italia – via MilanLive – the issues in question are the right-back position and the central defender who will partner captain Alessio Romagnoli.

At the moment, the advantage is with Andrea Conti and Matteo Gabbia for the respective roles, which would mean that Davide Calabria is dropped and Mateo Musacchio is overlooked despite being fit enough to be called up to the squad.

The rest of the positions are basically set in stone aside from any late twists. Gianluigi Donnarumma will be as always between the posts, while the defence will be completed by Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez.

In the midfield, Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer will be the anchormen with Samu Castillejo and Ante Rebic flanking them to the left and right respectively.

Hakan Calhanoglu – back from injury – will be the playmaker behind striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Conti, Gabbia, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.
