Sky: Pioli expected to rely on Kjaer, Florenzi and Reijnders against Slavia

Some further clues have arrived on the eve of AC Milan’s game against Slavia Praha regarding what the starting line-up should be.

Milan entertain the Czech side in the first leg of their last 16 Europa League tie at San Siro tomorrow night hoping to take a lead into the second game as they did against Stade Rennais.

The good news for head coach Stefano Pioli is that the treatment room has almost fully emptied, with only Tommaso Pobega absent from today’s training session at Milanello. That in turn leaves some selection dilemmas.

According to what Peppe Di Stefano (via MilanNews) is reporting for Sky, Tijjani Reijnders is certain to start in midfield having been on the bench from minute one for each of the the last two league games.

The other certainty is that Malick Thiaw will not play from the start and there is a battle between Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori to partner Matteo Gabbia, with the Dane currently leading.

On the right side of the defence – given the suspension he will have to serve in the league on Sunday – it will be Alessandro Florenzi and not Davide Calabria.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo; Reijnders, Adli, Loftus-Cheek; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

  1. This midfield is so weak, we desperately need a DM. Someone like Mats Wieffer but he won’t come cheap now as he would last summer.

    1. Mats wieffer is getting weaker now i don’t know why i think it’s better if we take sofyan amrabat for cheap price
