Sky: Pioli’s possible choices for the derby – Saelemaekers could start at right-back

Alexis Saelemaekers could be set for his first ever start for AC Milan in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter, according to a report.

Sky Italia’s Manuele Baiocchini (via MilanNews.it) has given an update on the Rossoneri’s preparations ahead of this weekend’s crucial fixture.

He reports that Pioli will stick with the 4-4-2 formation seen since the win in Cagliari earlier this year, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to partner Rafael Leao in attack.

In midfield, Ismael Bennacer returns to partner Franck Kessie after his suspension, meaning Hakan Calhanoglu will return to his more natural position wide on the left.

In defence though there are two battles: the one between Mateo Musacchio and Simon Kjaer to partner Alessio Romagnoli, and the one between Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria for the right-back spot.

However, look out for Saelemaekers: the Belgian could even start at right-back given the physical problems that the aforementioned duo have had.

Probable Milan XI (4-4-2): Donnarumma; Conti (Calabria/Saelemaekers), Kjaer (Musacchio), Romagnoli, Hernandez; Castillejo, Kessie, Bennacer, Calhanoglu; Ibrahimovic, Leao.
