Sky: Probable Milan XI to face Cremonese – Leao to start from the bench

By Oliver Fisher -

Some important news regarding AC Milan’s team for tomorrow night’s game against Cremonese has emerged as Rafael Leao should start on the bench, it is claimed.

According to a report from Sky (via MilanNews), Leao should be given some rest and Ante Rebic should start in his place from the first minute in the role of left winger, with the Portuguese ready to come off the bench during the game.

The broadcaster also state that Ciprian Tatrusanu should be in goal with a back four of Pierre Kalulu, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Fode Ballo-Toure ahead of him, given Theo Hernandez’s suspension.

Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer are expected to be in the double pivot with the attack completed by Junior Messias on the right, Brahim Diaz as the playmaker and Divock Origi up front, as Olivier Giroud is suspended.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Kjaer, Tomori, Ballo-Toure; Tonali, Bennacer; Messias, Brahim, Rebic; Origi.

        1. “You do realise we need to get him going or we sell like paqueta and he will become twice as good and we lose out on 40m?”

          Yep. Eventually. But in his current condition he will only hurt the team. Like everyone says, he needs time. But that time can be spent on the bench too as he clearly isn’t ready (to play). He’s only getting worse match by match and needs a mental “reset”. Let the others play until he has fixed his head. It’ll probably take until next season but we have time.

  1. Yeah possibly a signal Leao will be leaving in January or next summer, which will be a big blow for Milan because this season so far he got the most assist (9 assist) and second top scorer (6 goal) in Milan.

    I just hope Maldini give Pioli a good replacement if Leao really leaving.

      1. The question is if Leao agreed a transfer to Chelsea in January then he can’t play for them in UCL because he already registered as Milan player. He must wait until next season and the next question is IF Chelsea qualify for next season UCL lol.

          1. Oh yeah i forgot that rule already scrapped.

            I guess the only question is if Chelsea can qualify for next season UCL or not. Right now they at 7th in premier league.

      1. This season outside the red card that made Leao absent against Napoli, Leao always start even when Milan plays every 3 days. And Leao is not yet have a single injury for this season so i doubt the reason to not start him against Cremonese is because injury or fatigue.

        More signs shows he will leave next year.

        1. It’s easy for Leao to play every 3 days as he doesn’t do that much on the pitch anyway. He does his thing 3-4 times per game and rest of the match he’s just daydreaming. Look at the stats and see how even the old man Giroud covers more miles than Leao.

          1. Are you sure you watch Milan matches?

            If Leao only daydreaming the rest of the match then he wouldn’t have the highest numbers of assist with 9 assist and second top scorer with 6 goals.

            You should learn how to appreciate a player contribution despite you suck at football and can only watch them play from TV’s.

          2. “Are you sure you watch Milan matches?

            If Leao only daydreaming the rest of the match then he wouldn’t have the highest numbers of assist with 9 assist and second top scorer with 6 goals.”

            Yep. He shows up 3-5 times per match and rest of the time he’s walking around. Sometimes those 3-5 times do benefit the team, sometimes don’t. If you haven’t noticed, you’re the one who’s not watching the matches.

          3. “You should learn how to appreciate a player contribution despite you suck at football and can only watch them play from TV’s.”

            LOL. Look who’s talking! You know nothing. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

  2. Theo and Giroud are suspended, so start our best attacker on the bench? Yeah, that’s a no from me dog.

    Leão, Origi, Messias;
    Tonali, Brahim, Bennacer;
    Ballo, Tomori, Kjaer, Kalulu;
    Tatarusanu;

    1. Pioli been fair to Adli. He gave Adli a starter against Verona and it was clear Adli needs more time to adapt.

      Now what are you gonna do if you’re in Pioli shoes?

      Are you gonna keep starting Adli despite he needs more time and it will cost you 3 points if you lost?
      Or
      You start players who are more ready than Adli and can help you win the match?

      You should try to see from different view and less “Pioli isn’t fair” view.

      1. CDK has been given time and chances over and over again. Why not Adli? What has CDK done to deserve more than Adli? Nothing. He’s only getting minutes due to his higher price tag.

        1. “What has CDK done to deserve more than Adli? Nothing.”

          1. CDK made plenty of key passes compare to Adli.
          2. CDK good at pressuring the opponents compare to Adli.
          3. Based on statistics from their previous club, CDK is better than Adli.

          So it’s obvious why CDK have more priority than Adli.

          Also, like Pioli said months ago, Adli fits more as CAM but for CAM we got Diaz, Krunic, and now CDK.

          Adli and CDK are still very young and have 5 years contracts with Milan. They should take their time to adapt.

  3. It is mindless to bench him when we already miss theo,our left side will be dead,let the guy play 2 more matches and then he can rest with portugal

  4. The fact is we have to win this game ….i can’t imagine not playing rafeol leao ,,yes it looks a possibility that he may be leaving in January ,just hope this is not the case ..We will have too wait and see…It’s bad enough that OLIVIER GIROUD is not playing also ,through suspension..Rafael and Olivier together are both awesome..put it this way we need them both ..
    We can beat anyone with Olivier Giroud and Rafael leao ….i still believe we can win tonight ..
