Sky: Probable Milan XI to face Juventus – Pobega to start in possible 4-3-3

By Oliver Fisher -

More news has emerged regarding the starting line-up that Stefano Pioli is expected to field against Juventus this evening.

According to the latest from Sky, the main headline is that Tommaso Pobega is now expected to start as he is currently favoured over Rade Krunic. His task would be to support Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer in midfield in the phase of non-possession, creating a sort of 4-3-3.

Theo Hernandez trained with the rest of the group for the second consecutive day yesterday and has fully recovered, so he will come back into the starting line-up to replace Fode Ballo-Toure.

There is one selection battle remaining as per Sky, with Charles De Ketelaere and Brahim Diaz competing for a starting spot as the trequartista (or right winger in event of a 4-3-3).

In defence it is possible that Matteo Gabbia starts from minute one with Kalulu moved to the right hand side in place of Sergino Dest.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Gabbia, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Pobega, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

  1. I like this move by Pioli. Pobega is more direct, more offensive than Krunic and more of a goal threat with his late runs in the box.

      1. I also like Adli but from the few minutes I saw him play exactly like Tonali. I’m not sure of his defensive qualities as compared to Tonali. For me Tonali is ahead of him at the moment. in fact without Tonali Acmilan lack identity.
