Sky: Probable XIs for Roma vs. Milan – four changes from Lecce win

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to go with his tried and tested formula for Saturday’s crucial game against Roma, a report claims.

According to Sky, Mike Maignan will be in goal with Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez as the back four, meaning Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw would drop out compared to the Lecce game.

Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic are down as the two deeper-lying midfielders with Ismael Bennacer ahead of them, meaning the trio that did so well to neutralise Napoli will again be reunited.

The attack is expected to be formed of Brahim Diaz on the right wing, Rafael Leao on the opposite flank and Olivier Giroud, who is back from calf/Achilles discomfort.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Brahim Diaz, Krunic, Leao; Giroud.

Roma meanwhile are expected to go with a 3-4-2-1 system and Andrea Belotti is down to lead the line with no sign of Paulo Dybala or Chris Smalling, both of whom are injury doubts for the game. Diego Llorento and Gini Wijnaldum will also miss out.

Probable Roma XI (3-4-2-1): Patricio; Mancini, Kumbulla, Ibanez; Zalewski, Cristante, Matic, Spinazzola; Pellegrini, El Shaarawy; Belotti.

  1. Krunic has found his best position as CDM, thank to Pioli. His collaboration with Tonali as duo midfielder and Bennacer as the AMC has form a very solid Milan’s midfielder

  2. What Pioli do to Krunic, is like what Anceloti did to Pirlo as deep lying midfielder. Pirlo became the world’s best player in his position. I believe Krunic will too. Pioli is stupid but genious
