Sky: Probable Milan XI to face Empoli – the choices at centre-back, left-back and midfield

By Oliver Fisher -

More team news is beginning to emerge on the eve of AC Milan’s home game against Empoli, as the indications continue to arrive from Milanello.

According to reports from Sky (via SempreMilan.it), there is a battle for the centre-back spot to partner Fikayo Tomori between Alessio Romagnoli and Pierre Kalulu and it seems as though the latter has won. That means the Rossoneri captain has recovered but will start from the bench.

Also at left-back there is a duel between Alessandro Florenzi and Fode Ballo-Touré to replace Theo Hernandez who is suspended, with the former preferred at the moment, while the potential of seeing Franck Kessié as the attacking midfielder now seems more likely than Brahim Diaz starting.

Elsewhere in the team Mike Maignan will start in goal with Davide Calabria, Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer, Junior Messias, Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud all keeping their spots.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Florenzi; Tonali, Bennacer; Messias, Kessié, Leao; Giroud.
