Sky reporter believes Ibrahimovic will renew Milan deal: “This challenge fascinates him greatly”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears set to extend his contract with AC Milan and continue his adventure for at least another season, a journalist has claimed.

The return of Ibrahimovic in January 2020 was the start of the Rossoneri’s resurgence as the 39-year-old took a young ground under his wing and helped them grow into a team which has been top of the table for over 20 rounds of the current season.

Now, there is a lot of media attention surrounding Ibra’s future, especially now he has returned to the Swedish national team. Luca Marchetti has told Sky Italia (via MilanNews) that he believes Ibra will renew his contract with Milan and hopefully lead them out for a Champions League return.

Speaking on Sky, the journalist said: “Renewal? I think so, this challenge fascinates him greatly. He has understood that he is fundamental even when he is not playing. He is the leader of this Milan, the elder brother of his teammates, has understood that his being Milan is the mission to bring him back to Europe.”

Now it remains for an agreement to be found over the extension of the contract with his agent Mino Raiola, and the attacking department must be constructed around him given he will turn 40 next season.
