Sky: Romero’s chance and two doubts – latest team news ahead of Milan-Udinese

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan squad were back in training today after the two days of rest that were granted by Stefano Pioli after the bitter 2-2 draw against Napoli, and some indications regarding the Udinese game arrived.

As reported by Sky (via MilanPress), Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic will most likely be rested for Saturday night’s game in order to ensure that they are both fit enough to start against PSG next Tuesday.

The two players did individual work today like Simon Kjaer, who will instead be called up for the match against the Friulians. As for Samuel Chukwueze there are good signs regarding his recovery, so he could be back against Lecce rather than after the break.

Finally, the update from Sky added some details on Pioli’s possible choices against Udinese. Luka Romero’s first start of the season is a given, given the lack of options, while in midfield there is the usual battles between Pobega-Musah and Krunic-Adli.

  1. Udinese is our chance to give a rest to the important players and try players like Romero, Simic, and Berteshagi.
Give a rest to Reijnders and play Pobega(can’t believe I want Pobega to play). Kajer also needs to play, Krunic and Adli.
It will be our weakest XI but Udinese is weak and has not won any game so far
