Algeria's Ismael Bennacer

Sky: Saudi interest in Bennacer confirmed as Milan set stance ahead of January

AC Milan have outlined their stance as they are braced for an attempt from Saudi Arabia to sign Ismael Bennacer, a report claims.

It was reported yesterday by Nabil Djellit of France Football that a Saudi club have identified and contacted Bennacer regarding a possible move to the Saudi Pro League.

According to what is being reported by Sky (via PianetaMilan), the interest from Saudi Arabia has been confirmed and the Rossoneri management are ready to listen to offers in the January transfer window.

However, they would only sit at the negotiating table if bids arrive exceeding €50m which is higher than the value of Bennacer’s release clause, one that only becomes active from July 2024.

The reason that a move is being lined up for the winter because of the fact that the midfielder is currently injured and will be out for the next few months after an operation to repair his knee cartilage.

      1. You’re a fool, the player has to want to go. Doesn’t matter if somebody offers to pay the release clause (which if you could read you would know isn’t in effect until after the season). Not everyone wants to take the money and run like Tonali did, and many want nothing to do with the Saudis. Maybe he will, we don’t know, but it would be up to him to go or not.

      1. Amrabat is already better than him, Musah has the potential to be better than him and a very interesting option is Samuele Ricci

      2. “Where the hell are you going to find a better defensive mid than Bennacer?”

Plenty of them around. Open your eyes.

  1. Everything depends on where Milan are in January. If the midfield is settled and we are performing well, Benni won’t walk straight back into a starting spot and 50Mil might be too good to turn down.

  2. Take the money and run.
With 50 mil you will get an upgrade and still have money left to address other needs in the squad.
He has always been good for only 1 month a season, the rest is either bad form or out because of injury.

  3. As much as I like his quality, his position is too risky for a player of his stature and durability. He has always had injuries that kept him sidelined for long every season. And we were quite dependent on him so when he’s gone we are always suffering. The arrival of new players indicates that we need more physical midfield in the end. If the club got nice offer and the new signings plays well then I think he would be sold. I personally think Reinjders could be massive as he is as creative and more physically strong and fit.

  4. Is that why we after Yunus Musah ? So the regista are : Krunic & Loftus-Cheeks only.
    Mezzala : Reijnders & CDK
    Box-to-box : Pobega & Musah.

That Will be looking good, for me.
