Sky journalist predicts ‘slight rotation’ from Fonseca vs. Venezia including no Pulisic

Peppe Di Stefano gave an update this evening on Sky regarding the selection choices that Paulo Fonseca is likely to make in view of the game against Venezia but also the Liverpool and Inter matches after.

It is imperative that Milan get their first victory of the season against the Venetians having amassed two points from a possible nine to begin the new campaign, something that already has Fonseca under a lot of pressure.

In addition to failing to win a game, the Rossoneri have also conceded six goals and they have only led once which was against Lazio, a game they ended up having to rescue from behind just as they did the Torino fixture in round one.

Di Stefano did a segment on Sky regarding the decisions Fonseca will make for Saturday’s game against the newly-promoted side, and the eye he will have on the two matches after.

“There will be rotation but at the same time he [Fonseca] cannot underestimate the other commitments. I’ll give you an example: Morata has been working separately for four weeks,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Putting him in the starting lineup initially would probably be too daring considering the other two games. But there now in attack you have an alternative, and what an alternative, called Tammy Abraham, so you can go easy if you play with Abraham up front.

“In midfield you have a short blanket because you sold Pobega and Adli, Benancer is injured and will be out for at least four months, Musah only returned today so logic says Fofana together with Reijnders, unless he wants to field Zeroli and Vos from the first minute but I don’t think so because the game is delicate.

“In the attacking trident: Pulisic returned today as well as Chukwueze, so let’s assume Okafor, Leao with maybe Loftus-Cheek who trained in recent days here at Milanello. In defence maybe Pavlovic can start from the bench and maybe Gabbia can play together with Fikayo Tomori.

“[They would play] With either Calabria or Emerson Royal on one side and Theo Hernandez on the other, because I have a hard time thinking that he could do without him again. So yes, there will be a slight rotation.”

    1. Play him for at least a half then Pulisic if he isn’t doing well. There is a player there, but seems to lack an understanding of the game. Same as Musah with his bad choices. Let’s be honest, the two preseason games he did well in were against the other team’s B or C squad.

    2. His performance have.
ANyways this is just Sky sports throwing darts at a board and seeing which name it hits. They haven’t a clue and are never right about this.

    1. Yes but inter players are more determined and trophy driven ,inter players are more zealous, milan players have skills but nonchalant ,they play individual football ,there is no unity amongs the players
