Sky: Sprained left ankle for Calhanoglu confirmed – he will miss the next three games

By Oliver Fisher -

It has been confirmed that AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu has suffered a sprained ankle and will be out for 10 days, a report claims.

Sky journalist Manuele Baiocchini (via MilanNews) reported earlier today that the 27-year-old had left Tuesday’s training on crutches after a suspected sprained ankle to be evaluated with new tests.

Now, the same source are reporting that Calhanoglu’s medical examination has ended after he went to the Columbus Center in Milano to look at the extent of the issue, and a left ankle sprain has been confirmed.

As a result, the Rossoneri no.10 will be out for at least 10 days thus skipping the games against Celtic, Roma and Sparta Prague.

It is not ideal news for head coach Stefano Pioli – on his 55th birthday too – but there is a direct replacement waiting in the wings for that particular game in Brahim Diaz, currently on loan from Real Madrid.
