Sky: Spurs re-open talks with Milan over €35m striker deal as trequartista nears exit

By Oliver Fisher -

Spurs have resumed contacts with AC Milan regarding the possibility of signing striker Krzysztof Piatek in the final few days of the window, a report claims.

We reported earlier on Sunday via our mercato correspondent Vito Angele that Piatek is pushing to play having lost his spot in the starting XI for the time being.

He is happy to do that at Milan or elsewhere because – as reiterated by his agent in the meeting with the Rossoneri leadership on Saturday – he does not want to miss out on the European Championships.

According to Sky Italia’s Luca Marchetti – as cited by MilanNews.it – Tottenham have reopened dialogue for Piatek and today there have been new contacts with Milan for the Poland international, with Christian Eriksen seemingly on his way to Inter.

However, despite the Rossoneri’s willingness to allow the 24-year-old to leave, it will be necessary to find a formula that allows Milan to recoup the €35m investment they made 12 months ago.
