Sky journalist outlines the three main factors behind Pulisic’s Milan resurgence

By Oliver Fisher -

Sky journalist Peppe Di Stefano has given the three reasons that he believes have helped Christian Pulisic amid his resurgence since joining AC Milan.

Pulisic continued his trend of scoring important goals on Sunday during the win over Verona. When he does get on the scoresheet Milan often win too, as shown by the 11 victories in the 12 games in which the American netted, with Monza the only exception.

Even though Pulisic is only 25 years old, he has already had spells at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, having fallen by the wayside with the London club after a very impressive first season there.

La Gazzetta dello Sport outlined yesterday how Pulisic cost Milan €20m last summer but he has gone beyond all expectations, with 12 goals to his name across all competitions and eight assists too.

Di Stefano analysed the reasons for Pulisic’s very positive impact at Milan so far during a segment for Sky, with his comments relayed by Radio Rossonera.

“Pulisic has surpassed himself, he has surpassed the best Pulisic by reaching 12 goals for the season. His record dates back to the 2019-20 season where he scored 11 goals for Chelsea,” he said.

“He was an attacking winger who scored few goals, only one in his last year in London. He probably found a coach who has enormous faith in him, moved him from left to right and a championship more suited to his characteristics.”
