SM: Pioli forced to tweak plans amid Tonali injury – the probable XI to face Udinese

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli will have to make a tweak to his starting line-up for the game against Udinese at San Siro on Saturday with Sandro Tonali likely to sit out.

According to our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Milan can somewhat breathe a sigh of relief as it was determined that Tonali’s injury is not as bad as was feared. He will be evaluated on a day to day basis but in all likelihood will miss the game against Udinese this coming weekend.

Therefore, Pioli will have to make a change to the 4-2-3-1 system that he intends to play against the Friulians, with Rade Krunic and Tommaso Pobega the main candidates to replace Tonali. It is the Bosnian who is actually more likely to get the nod over the Italian at the moment, as per the information that we have.

Probable starting XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Krunic, Bennacer; Messias/Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

  1. Krunic is such a good utility player. Does the job, doesn’t fuss. My prediction is he’s going to win over Rossoneri supporters this season.

  2. How can we be going into another season with Diaz as our starting AMF? No replacement for KEssie either. Still haven’t signed a CB. Im not even going to mention the RW spot. This is embarrassing Milan. THey have an undeniably worse squad than they had last season. Get serious.

  3. If diaz failed then he will be sold next winter mercato.
Adli and CDK need several games to adapt gameplan then Pioli will decide. I trust Mister 100%
