SM: Tomori undergoes MRI scan on thigh injury – the worrying result

By Oliver Fisher -

Fikayo Tomori underwent an MRI scan on his thigh injury today, and from what we have learned he is facing a long spell on the sidelines.

According to the information that the club have provided, the instrumental tests that Tomori underwent this morning highlighted a myo-tendinous lesion of the right femoral biceps, in other words a serious muscle injury.

The English centre-back will not be back any time soon, and while the risk of surgery seems to have been avoided, he is looking at a minimum of two months out due to the severity of the problem.

It is a huge blow for Milan and for Stefano Pioli who not only lose a defensive leader and one of the best players from the season so far, but it also worsens the emergency given that Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu are also out for the foreseeable too.

The Rossoneri are back in action on December 30, and in all likelihood Simon Kjaer will be asked to partner one of either Jan-Carlo Simic or Theo Hernandez in the four-man defence against Sassuolo, unless he decides to revert to a three again.

  1. And I thought there was nothing lower than this rock bottom before.

I’m gonna watch those next games with half an eye, afraid of the results of playing without a defense.

  2. I don’t even know how to react to this terrible news. Either our players are made of some flilmsy material or the medical staff is completely incompetent. Or could It be both?

  3. I personally believe that all our players seem to be attacking minded ,,and we don’t build up from the defence to the midfield and then onto the forwards ..
We seem to be too frantic in many areas of the pitch .
We need to play as a unit ..We seem to desperate to get a result out of frustration realy..
I don’t necessarily think we should blame pioli as I do think he is a very good coach…if we lose him ,,don’t believe for one minute results will follow..I say stick with him ,at least until the season ends ..if he went elsewhere he will be successful..Yes he is a good coach …I believe we tried to change to many players .
It takes time to see results .Yes just look at Chelsea, they had too many players as they thought that a continuation of new players would bring results. It doesn’t always work that way ..
Just hope we can in any event win something this season ..
Let’s all cheer our team on ,,and be happy with a top four place in the leauge ..win the italia coppa ,and have a great run in the Europa league.

    1. So we cannot build up from the back to midfield to attack with Pioli. Maybe a new coach will fix that? If anything having attacking minded players should help this matter. To conclude, it’s Piolis orders to send predictable longballs forward to Giroud ,my friend

  4. I repeat again, signing medical staff will be signing of the season. These medical people should go elsewhere. Nobody in Serie a would sign out medical staff
