SM: How much the Champions League group stage brought Milan in ticket revenue

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan advanced to the knockout phase of the Champions League thanks to their 4-0 win against Salzburg in the final round. It’s a huge revenue boost for the Rossoneri, who already made a lot from the group stage.

As the Covid restrictions have been removed, Milan were able to have 100% capacity at San Siro for the games against Dinamo Zagreb, Chelsea and Salzburg. This also resulted in a substantial amount of ticket revenue.

As highlighted by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, the game against Chelsea yielded the most in ticket revenue at almost €7m. A total of around €15m was collected from the group stage in terms of ticket revenue, without counting the UEFA prize money.

Over 200k, more specifically 210.684, were present at San Siro for the three group stage games and that is indeed very impressive. The round of 16 will surely yield a lot in ticket revenue and Milan will be hoping to make it past Tottenham as well.
