Sole 24 Ore: New San Siro project takes huge step with potential €350m investment

The project that AC Milan and Inter aim to carry out to build a new stadium appears to have taken a big step in the right direction.

According to the latest from il Sole 24 Ore (via Calciomercato.com), Texas-based construction company Hines Interests Limited Partnership have completed the purchase of the former Trotto area and the former San Siro training center in Milan, which had been decommissioned since 2013.

The project will include a number of different plans on the 150 thousand square metre site. It will mainly be residential, but there will also be a park of over 30 thousand square metres and auxiliary services are planned in the stadium like shops, restaurants and a museum.

These projects could essentially complete the final plan that Milan and Inter are getting ready to pitch to the City Council. The area, it says, could lead to total investments of around €350million in the next four years.
