The collapse of Jean-Clair Todibo’s proposed move from Barcelona to AC Milan was solely down to his agent, according to one insider.
Everything pointed towards the Rossoneri signing the Frenchman. La Gazzetta dello Sport stated Barcelona have given the go-ahead for the 20-year-old to complete his move to the San Siro on the basis of a loan with a option to buy set at €20m, while MilanNews.it also confirmed their belief that an agreement had been reached.
Now though, Todibo is on his way to Bundesliga side Schalke on a loan deal until the end of the season which reportedly has no option to buy included, at least according to multiple outlets.
According to transfer source Louis Girardi on Twitter, both Barcelona and Todibo had given the green light for a move to Milan to take place on loan with an option to make the move permanent.
However, his agent decided to intervene and try and take his client elsewhere, as he wanted the 20-year-old to remain tied to Barcelona and only leave on a dry loan, Girardi adds.
