DAZN: The staggering speed of Theo Hernandez’s volley against Atalanta

Theo Hernandez’s volley in the win over Atalanta on Sunday night was certainly an absolute rocket, but now DAZN have revealed just how fast it actually went.

The Frenchman had a huge hand in the opening goal that sent Milan on their way to a vital 2-0 victory in front of a sold out crowd at San Siro. A ball into Giroud in the box was masterfully headed backwards into the path of Theo, who could not have hit his volley any sweeter.

It feels like it should go down as his goal, but ultimately it cannoned off the post, hit Juan Musso’s back and rebounded in for an own-goal. Theo even joked after the game that he is claiming it as his, and we don’t blame him given how sweet a strike it was.

As reported by DAZN (via MilanNews), Theo Hernandez’s volley that caused Musso’s own-goal was measured at a speed of 104.42 kilometres per hour.
