By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain in the chase for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano but Arsenal currently lead the chase, according to a report.

The Rossoneri are in the market for a new centre-back to become captain Alessio Romagnoli’s long-term partner at the club, and Upamecano is a name who has been persistently linked over the last few months.

Competition is tough though, as a number of outlets have also claimed that the likes of Spurs, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also in the running for the talented France U21 international.

According to a report from TMW – who cite German newspaper SportBild – Milan remain in pursuit of Upamecano, who has a contact which expires in 2021 and a €60m release clause.

Arsenal however are on pole with Leipzig would be willing to listen to offers, but the report adds that both Manchester giants, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all also in the running.
