Sporting Club de Portugal have released a statement confirming that they have received the payment of compensation from Lille over the Rafael Leao case.
The saga surrounding Leao’s move to Lille five years ago continues to drag on with Sporting CP claiming they are owed the amount of his release clause at the time while it has been determined in various courts that a fee of just over €19m is the apt amount.
As MilanNews writes, Sporting have published the following statement pertaining to the Ligue 1 club paying the fine they have been instructed to, but also confirming their desire to use the means available to get more.
“SAD (hereinafter Sporting SAD or Company) informs, within the terms and for the purpose of fulfilling the information obligation deriving from the provisions of article 17 of Regulation (EU) n. 596/2014, of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 16 April, as follows:
“Sporting SAD received a fee of EUR 19,670,443.70 from LOSC Lille. The transfer was made spontaneously by unilateral action of the French club, without any prior agreement with Sporting SAD.
“Sporting SAD continues to ask LOSC Lille for the payment of compensation of the minimum amount of 45,292,516.00 euros in the competent bodies, as part of the unilateral termination of the employment contract of the player Rafael Leão.”
This is not our fault but madness.
The judge already give that Lille need to pay 19m and they already paid that amount. But keep insist they want 45m…
This is not AC Milan business anymore, but if true that sporting CP must be greedy club
Not greedy, we are just poor and need the money. Only Benfica in our league have the ability to spend and spend every year compared to the Italian clubs.
