Sportitalia: Milan enquire about Chelsea striker but cost seems prohibitive

AC Milan made an enquiry about the possibility of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Chelsea, according to a report.

According to the latest from Gianluigi Longari for Sportitalia, Milan are moving to try and fix the attacking department with Mehdi Taremi of Porto ‘at the top of a substantial list’, along with the name of Aubameyang.

Some exploratory enquiries were made over the Gabon international but at the moment the cost is prohibitive due to the salary that he earns, even if there is a big appreciation for his qualities.

Aubameyang played just 21 times for Chelsea last season and scored three goals with two coming in the Champions League and one being against Milan, his former club.

Meanwhile, Tijjani Reijnders will land in Milan today to begin his new adventure in Italy but he will likely not be the only player to arrive in that area.

The management want to close the signing of Yunus Musah from Valencia in the next 48 hours too, before the team depart for their tour of the United States on July 21.

  1. Wages will be WAAAAAAAAY too high, and Aubameyang is very much at the “cashing in pre-retirement” stage of his career. Shame, as he’s a Milan product originally.

  2. If it will be a free transfer and he will take 4M per season they should take him. Won’t happen but…Maybe they decide to spend over 20M on RW if they sign him, that is the only hope now…😂😂😂😂

  3. Why on earth would these idiots be looking at a guy who has spent the past 12 months sleeping on the bench and soaking up wages? He’s arguably worse than Origi. Get a real striker whose proven quality and hungry to win in the door already.
