The 2024 summer transfer window deadline is likely to be shifted back by Serie A, according to a report, but only by a few hours.
Michele Criscitiello, the CEO of Sportitalia, exclusively revealed the latest news. This is what the journalist wrote on his X profile” “The closing of the transfer market has been postponed. From 8pm to midnight, still on Friday 30 August.”
Of course, with this being Serie A, there are naturally some obstacles to overcome. The league are apparently in discussions with Inter and Atalanta over what will happen with their game, which is currently scheduled to kick-off at 20:45 CEST and would thus fall inside the extra period.
The finish line will therefore be moved a few metres, which will allow Italian clubs to potentially do a bit more late business. Milan have started slowly this summer, but they are still expected to be busy between now and the deadline.
For those who might dismiss the relevance of the deadline moving only four hours, during the final day of the last summer transfer window Milan had to rush to get Luka Jovic registered in time as a last-minute signing, so the shift could facilitate more spontaneous operations like that.
Milan will need that extra three hours to close Fofana 🙂
HA! Good one.
Furlani and Co don’t need a few hours they need a few miracles!
The incompetent leadership from management failing again in this summer market to ensure Fofana at Milan, well say no more. Instead other Italian club have secured targets without issues!
Why did they sack Maldini & Massara?
For the case of Jovic, it worked, but still it was NOT a good look. Deals like these are always messy and could colour any involved teams as unorganized and desperate.
I’m a firm believer that transfer window should ideally be closed before the first kick off of the new season. Players should have a proper off season and not be treated and traded like merchandise at some closing down store where everything must go.
Why put Fofana that long 😩😂 pls he should be the fifth day as we really need a 5 badly
