Romano: Spurs join Botman race with Milan ‘pushing’ and Newcastle ‘working’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are now in a three-team race to sign Sven Botman from Lille because two Premier League sides are also pushing to sign him, Fabrizio Romano reports.

The Dutch international’s agents were at Casa Milan earlier last week (see video here) to discuss the potential for a summer move to Milan, and as per Fabrizio Romano it was a ‘positive and direct’ meeting between the parties.

In short, Milan are still evidently very keen on signing him, while Daniele Longo added that while there wasn’t necessarily anything new and concrete after the meeting, Botman is ‘enthusiastic’ and is pushing for the transfer.

According to what Sky’s Fabrizio Romano is reporting now though, Tottenham will 100% sign a new centre back in the summer transfer window and they are following Botman with interest.

In a tweet reply, he also confirms that Milan are ‘pushing for Botman’ and Newcastle have been ‘working on this deal too since January’.
