GdS: Spurs winner the latest big moment for Brahim – Milan’s stance on permanent deal

By Oliver Fisher -

Brahim Diaz was the match-winner for AC Milan in the Champions League against Spurs on Tuesday night, which puts him in a better position regarding his future.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report this morning, Brahim Diaz has always enjoyed great trust from the club and head coach Stefano Pioli in the last three years which he has spent on loan from Real Madrid, and it is faith that he has earned with hard work and big moments.

The arrival of Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge for over €30m should have reduced him to a role on the bench as happened in August and September, but the Spaniard has reversed the hierarchies and is now back to being top of the pile.

October’s win against Juventus was an example of his ability with the solo run that ended in the goal to make it 2-0, and he scored another great goal after a dribble in the 4-1 home win against Monza.

Expectations on Brahim’s shoulder have always been high, ever since his days at Manchester City, yet the feeling is that he can grow even more given he i only 2023. Now he is reaching a crossroads of sorts given his loan expires at the end of the season and neither Milan nor Real Madrid have communicated any concrete news.

Brahim has been very attached to the Rossoneri since day one and for that reason Milan will try to negotiate a lower fee than the €22m option to buy agreed with Los Blancos. The negotiation has not yet entered its crucial phase, and Milan will have to wait to see what the LaLiga champions want.
