Stats highlight Tomori’s importance at Milan despite occasional mistakes

By Isak Möller -

Since the Scudetto season, Fikayo Tomori has been a bit more prone to mistakes and this is understandably something AC Milan fans have pointed out. However, the Englishman is still extremely important for the team.

The Englishman was sent off against Roma due to two rash and unnecessary challenges, highlighting exactly what the Milan fans have been talking about. Against Newcastle, however, he was absolutely brilliant and dominated from start to finish.

As highlighted by Serie A, Tomori is very important for Milan. With him on the pitch, the Rossoneri have an average of 2.2 points claimed per game, whereas they have an average of just 1.1 points without him (in Serie A).

Furthermore, their win percentage is 66.7% with Tomori and just 26.7% without him. The former Chelsea man has played a total of 84 league games for the club so these are stats that have added up over time, which gives them even more significance.

  1. No he’s not important according to them, he’s a flop, he plays rubbish, he’s the worst defender in the history of AC Milan, he’s very bad at tackling, he’s a careless defender.

But at the end stats doesn’t lie.
They are reserving the good words and appreciations for when he’s gone.
    Ungrateful fans.

    1. Actually Tomori was called up for international duty with England this recent FIFA date. He didn’t play, stayed on the bench, but it’s still honorable to make the roster.

I like Tomori. Some fans focus too much on his occasional mistakes, forgetting about the numerous times when he prevents the opposition from scoring.

Our defense gets more solid when he is playing. That’s undeniable, and these stats confirm it.

      1. His job is to prevent teams from scoring. And it’s not occasional mistakes. They’re pretty regular. Just because the other 3 cbs in the club are worse than him doesn’t make him a superb defender.
He has many improvements to make and he should make them fast

  2. average of just 1.1 points is because Tomori absent is seen in the team. just as Theo when he miss Pioli puts someone there who is not good enough for this team

    1. Of course if you had someone worth 60M in that position then he can be the good sub, however as of right now in my books he is an excelent player.

The problem here is that people ignore 9 good things he does in a game and only remmber one bad one.

Prnalty in CL couldnhave happened to anyone, that was a bit of bad luck and a call ref made.

For some here crying loud and louder appears to be a competition

  3. Tell us more about it…lol…players have their ups and downs, but fans here want the ups all the time. It’s not like Tomori’s downs are more than his ups, he is a decent defender, with some more experience he will do great…

I want to see Calabria converted into a defensive midfielder.

  4. And actually when vs Inter (Which is Tomori suspended), Kjaer play better than Thiaw. For now, Kjaer-Tomori are better than Thiaw-Tomori maybe ?
