It seems after the mistakes in AC Milan-Bologna, that two officials will be suspended for a few games. Not a help, but something.
Milan were on the end of some poor officiating last night against Bologna. Christopher Nkunku was fouled, perhaps twice, in the penalty area. The referee initially gave a yellow card and a penalty, but the officials ruled it out after VAR consultation.

Penalty punishment
Gabriele Gravina has already publically apologised, stating that the errors were as much, and that a mistake had been made. So, action is expected shortly, as Gazzetta dello Sport have written this afternoon.
Following the words, Michael Fabbri will be ‘kept away’ from VAR officiaiting for a few games after his call. Whilst Matteo Marcenaro could be rotated for the next round of fixtures, though further evaluations are required over his situation.
Of course, this does not add another goal onto Milan’s record, nor does it make the win feel any more emphatic. However, it shows that action will be taken for mistakes, which will hopefully reduce them in the future. We shall see.
A proper decisions should arrive shortly, but it is unlikely that either go without any punishment for the mistake.
It’s really harsh on the referee here IMO – the Nkunku penalty overturn, once he’d been asked to look at it and shown one angle, that’s fair enough to overturn.
The issue was not showing the play before that, but the ref wasn’t shown or alerted to that.
Sadly, it shows the value of the players rolling around on the ground; Nkunku won’t be getting up like that in a hurry again after the first one.
I was a bit incensed in real time by Rabiot getting brought down in the 4th minute, but Rabiot had made the mistake of putting his hand on the defender’s shoulder too.
End of the day: confusing and disappointing, but that’s football. Others will go our way.
From yellow card and penalty advantage to penalaty ruled out and the red card the other way. It’s like the unsung player’s Diving back then.

On Pulisic’s drive in the box the defender reached around his waist and had a hand over his shoulder. Both for a brief time but usually the hand over the shoulder is a foul.
First contact should be a pen and a red. Horrible officiating.
The officiating and the commentary had similar vibes, very disgusting.
The Rabiot incident is a clear penalty any day, the VAR didn’t review the incident either, the Pulisic incident maybe consider too soft but the defender laying hands on him in that momentum caused him to loose balance and fall.
It was a negetive officiating, the red card to the coach seemed malicious too.
It only reminds me of Muntari’s ghost goal against Juventus which robbed us of a Series A title.

Something is wrong here. How is it possible that noone from Var saw this!!!! And because of their mistake, Allegri was sent off. Is this fair Gravina!?! They should not given a chance to direct another game for this season. Or they should direct in Serie C.!!!
Allegri was sent off for abusing officials. Whether they make a bad decision or not, he’s a grown adult and that’s on him.
Was it the same like juve’s coppa final match where he was sent off also

He genuinely had a point. 80,000 ppl saw there were two clear penalties but the fools whose job it is to officiate have a worse understanding of the rules than the 80,000 tourists in the stands. Allegri was right to rip those guys, the standard of officiating is so low that it’s genuinely amateurish but then again footballing standards in Italy are extremely low to the point where the press celebrates a win over Estonia like they just qualified for a wc 😂
Well he (Michael Fabbri) had done the same before, VS Juve. Where Romagnoli was kicked by Mandzukic. At this point FIGC should just fire him and let him be clown.
VAR was much worse than ref, but both were suspicious.
This wasn’t even close….clear penalty. Shambolic officiating that has rightly been called out.

Apart from the clear instances the Ref officiated wrongly, I get the feeling that the refereeing in Serie A promotes rough tackles, and pretentious call for foul that disrupts the game.
This is a disadvantage when playing in European competition as the players are not disciplined enough to avoid certain useless tackles. Look at Musah for example that lead us put of Champions league.
There is a need to step up the game.
