Telefoot: Milan and Leipzig both in advanced talks over centre-back but Liverpool join the hunt

Liverpool have joined AC Milan and RB Leipzig in the race to land RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan, according to a report.

We reported earlier in the week that discussions are ongoing for Simakan and that the deal could be done at any moment, while in his latest update Pietro Balzano Prota told us contacts with Strasbourg and Toulouse for Simakan and Kone are expected during the day.

Sky Germany’s Max Bielefeld then added that both Milan and Leipzig are still in the race for Simakan and that the player is happy with the idea of joining either club and has not yet made a decision.

According to French journalist Julien Maynard of Telefoot, there is now big competition between Milan and Leipzig for the signing of Mohamed Simakan and both clubs are close to agreement with Strasbourg.

The player will then have to make his choice, but in the meantime Liverpool are keeping a good eye on developments too.
