Telegraph: Defender with 27 major honours could join Chelsea despite Milan, Fiorentina links

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea are reportedly considering making an offer to Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva amid links with Milan and Fiorentina.

The veteran centre-back is expected to leave PSG once he has captained them in the Champions League final on Sunday night, and The Telegraph report that Chelsea are considering an offer .

They actually add that the 35-year-old has been offered to the Blues by his agent and would even take a cut on his large salary to be able to play in the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported on Calciomercato.com that Thiago Silva ‘would be thrilled’ to be able to wear the Milan shirt again, but the club have other ideas as they do not want to sign another player over 30, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the exception.

According to the same website however, Thiago Silva is all set to sign a two-year, €4m-a-year (net) deal with Fiorentina to secure a return to Italy.

During his career Thiago Silva has won 27 major honours in Europe including 25 with PSG and two with Milan.
