Serie A side Genoa is a potential destination for AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer if they can strike a deal with the Rossoneri for the Dane, a report claims.
As has been reported by Telenord (via SempreMilan.it), Genoa already feel that they need some extra strength in their defence after an opening day 4-1 loss against Fiorentina.
Kjaer is one of the players that they are looking at and with the pending arrival of Marco Pellegrino, he could be expendable towards the end of this transfer window.
Milan would want to receive €3-4m for the Danish defender who is an important source of experience and leadership at the club, but Genoa deem that to be a high price.
Genoa would rather pay a low amount upfront but include plenty of bonuses so that the Rossoneri still receive an amount close to their valuation. The coming days will be vital to see if Kjaer is on the move or not.
He can be a sub for a season and leave on free in 2024.. No need to sell in fact better to keep him.
Kjaer has done well for us. He brings immense wealth of experience. Last season in UCL, he placed 6 games for us and just conceded 3 goals, 2 against Inter and 1 against Napoli. He was excellent in man marking Harry Kane in the first leg at San Siro. He can be a squad player. Don’t sell him
Yep. Kane looked like a 7-year-old ballerina next to Kjaer.
And IF Kjaer were to leave, look at the CBs and their age & experience. Bunch of 20-year-olds with zero experience. How’s that going to work out? I know and it wouldn’t be pretty…
Huge mistake to sell Kajer. Need his leadership both on and off the pitch. For 3-4M better to keep him this season. Not wise to have all young and vastly inexperienced backups – need at least one veteran presence there.
We all foresaw Kajer been pushed out eventually after the Madrid game, if only we got Pavad as an experienced figure I’d be fine. This begs the question what is Pioli’s problem ?… Kjaer is more useful than Florenzi but the latter gets a VIP treatment after many bad games, the logic behind these kick-outs just beats me.
I think he should stay, but his form has been off. I like the guy though and he does serve a purpose, but if he wants to play regularly he’s not really going to get it here.
If its true hurry up for sending him out at this moment it is un necgnechable opportunity
Definitely Stay. He leaves at the end of the season, Gabbia returns….. perfect plan.
He was so good, until Tomori, Kalulu, and then Thiaw raise the CB bar each season.
