Terracciano’s agent discusses mistake vs. Bologna and decision to pick Milan

By Ben Dixon -

Whilst the transfer of Filipo Terracciano was seen much as one for the future for AC Milan, he has already begun to be integrated into the first team, and his agent has given his time so far at the club and why he chose a move to Milan.

The Italian wing-back was Milan’s only paid acquisition of the January mercato, and he is viewed as an exciting prospect for years to come. However, the Rossoneri have already debated where his best position in the future may be, with reports stating that he is being tested as a box-to-box midfielder.

The plans for him are with the future in mind, but he has also received exposure to first-team minutes since joining. Unfortunately, though, his start to Diavolo life has seen him make a vital mistake against Bologna when he gave away a penalty late in the game.

Terracciano’s agent Andrea D’Amico spoke to Tuttomercatoweb.com, and his words have been relayed by MilanNews.

Why Milan?

“There were two, maybe three teams interested in him, but in the end, the boy and Verona chose Milan. Without taking anything away from the other interests. The player is flexible, young.”

The mistake against Bologna…

“Against Bologna [giving away the penalty], it was an instinctive gesture. He didn’t see the ball, and it fooled him. Mistakes happen. The important thing is to pick yourself up immediately and start again. He did that.”

  1. I have a bad feeling we’re not going to be seeing him for a while after that mistake.

Pioli (like many Italian managers) does tend to punish young players who make mistakes (but not senior ones).

It’s the opposite of what should happen of course.

I’ve no opinion about Terracciano – he’s just arrived, he’s young, we probably didn’t need someone else, he blocked other players, I don’t really blame him for the mistake, it was almost inevitable.

But he could go the same way as Vranckx….
