CM: From Retegui to Balogun – the names Milan are targeting to revamp the attack

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan need to invest in their attack this summer as the lack of depth has become striking in recent weeks, and there are some names in mind.

As Calciomercato.com reports, there are a number of occasions this season – the most recent being the home game against Empoli on Friday – where Milan have not been able to find the goal they need to turn one point into three.

Part of that reason is because of the attacking depth. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are well aware of the situation, and are monitoring several profiles who could come in to refresh an attack which is struggling.

Mateo Retegui is one of them, and while he would be willing to come to Serie A his asking price has obviously risen after the call-up from Italy, while there is also a lot of competition to battle including from Inter.

Victor Boniface was offered to Milan in recent weeks. He plays at Royale Union Saint Gilloise and is valued at around €10m, despite the fact he has 19 goals this season.

Meanwhile, Noah Okafor remains on the list and the Rossoneri management are working concretely to sign him, but he is valued at €25-30m despite the fact his contract is expiring in 2024.

Folarin Balogun – on loan at Stade Reims from Arsenal – would cost more than €30m given he has 17 goals in 28 Ligue 1 appearances this season. Finally, Moussa Dembélé would be available on a free given the 26-year-old striker is under contract until June with Lyon.
