MN: Theo Hernandez commits long-term future to Milan – the details of his renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

Some great news arrived on Friday evening as AC Milan confirmed that Theo Hernandez has extended his contract with the club until 2026.

For weeks it was rumoured that an agreement had been found between the parties and that all that was missing was the signature after weeks of negotiations, and today it came as Milan managed to get their sixth renewal of the season done.

MilanNews reports that the full-back signed an extension until 2026 and he will receive a salary of €4m net per season plus bonuses, is even less than the €4.5m plus bonuses initially envisaged.

It is a testament to the proactive work of directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara who have chosen to act ahead of time to secure key pieces of the project moving forward rather than to let time become their main enemy as in the cases of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Hakan Calhanoglu and now Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli.

  1. Management learned from their past mistake. But no one gonna appreciate this. All they say will be “they let players go for free”.
