Tuttosport: Star defender happy to extend Milan deal – the figure to reach an agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

In addition to the renewals of Alexis Saelemaekers and Simon Kjaer, AC Milan are also looking to tie down Theo Hernandez with a new long-term deal, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how the Rossoneri management are keen to extend the full-back’s contract. His current deal runs until 2024 so there is plenty of time, but situations like the Donnarumma, Calhanoglu and Kessie sagas have forced Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to be more proactive, especially given Theo is likely to be a player in demand.

Next week could be the turning point in talks as directors Maldini and Massara should meet Theo’s entourage again over the international break, with the aim of reaching an agreement in a short time. For his part, the player is ready to sign and stay at Milan, a club that has given him confidence and space.

Milan have offered €3.5m net per season to the former Real Madrid man, more than double his current salary of €1.5m plus bonuses, while the agent of Theo aims to get around €4m and it is at that figure that an agreement may well be reached.

  1. I hope Milan soon becomes a great force. All the players who decide to renew will then understand what wearing the red and black feels like. I hope Theo and others like Bennacer and Leao renew without any drama. The management then focus entirely on getting a quality RW and a striker.
