Tuttosport: Theo Hernandez announcement imminent – two more key renewals in the pipeline

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan had a quiet January transfer window which has caused some distress among the fan base, but one way the management could reassure everyone is by getting some key renewals done.

That is exactly what Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have planned too. According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the offices of Casa Milan have now changed from taking phone calls over potentials signings and sales, and there are preparations being made for the announcement of Theo Hernandez’s contract renewal.

The full-back will extend his current contractual deadline beyond 2024 and after the Frenchman has done so, Maldini and Massara will also aim to close negotiations over the extensions of midfielder Ismael Bennacer and winger Rafael Leao.

The management view the Algeria and Portuguese internationals as the other two jewels in the squad that need protecting given the rumours of interest from other clubs and the difficulties in securing previous extensions such as Donnarumma, Calhanoglu and Kessie.

  1. Yes, extend Theo, Leao and Bennacer until 2026. Then give more suitable contract for Tonali and Kalulu. After that fight for Kessie’s contract extension and also last offer for Romagnoli. However, whatever Romagnoli’s decision, Botman must be bought next summer.

  2. It was a disgraceful January window losing romain faivre to OL on a 4 year deal and others Milan’s management is absolutely shit we can long spend 5 million what a joke hopefully the spend good in the next window
