Thiaw believes Milan can approach Roma game with ‘confidence’ after Lecce win – video

Malick Thiaw believes that AC Milan can approach Saturday’s game against Roma with ‘confidence’ after the 2-0 victory against Lecce yesterday.

Thiaw was given a start at centre-back and contributed to the clean sheet while allowing Simon Kjaer to get some rest, though he did come off in the second half while on a yellow card and the Dane took his place.

Nonetheless it was a positive evening for the Rossoneri as they won after two draws in a row in the league, and Thiaw spoke to Milan TV after the game to reflect on the victory.

“It was really really important to win, to stay good in the table. Of course our target is to be in the Champions League and I think every game is really really important right now, today we took the three points which is really important and good,” he said.

“In Serie A I think every game is really really difficult. There’s no game where you manage to play really easy, you always have to be really focused and play good.

“Roma? Yes, a tough match, a big match, an important match for us. But we have our confidence, we know what our potential is and what we can do on the pitch, so we go there with confidence.”
